A California woman found a critter – possibly a cockroach or beetle – in her Starbucks salad.
“Dear @Starbucks I go to your store every day, I found a live bug in my salad… This is unbelievable,” Tia Ewing tweeted.
Starbucks replied, apologizing and asking Ewing to email details. Initially the customer was unhappy with the Seattle-based coffee chain’s response. “A $50 credit is all I got after digesting feces and who knows what else from this roach in my salad,” she said on Twitter.
“The @Starbucks customer service asked me am I calling because I haven’t been compensated enough… It’s about HEALTH,” Ewing continued.
But, Ewing later thanked Starbucks when they apparently agreed to investigate. “Cheers to @Starbucks for picking up the package to do a thorough investigation on the insect in my food,” Ewing wrote.
She said her coworkers thought the bug was a roach or a beetle. “Either way, gross!” she said.
