Drivers along Busch Boulevard near Dale Mabry Highway may have thought a huge hotel was going up behind these walls. But, it’s actually the future home for well-known Tampa philanthropist Dr. Kiran Patel and his family.

It will be the biggest house in Hillsborough County but the exact price tag, we don’t know just yet.

There is still quite bit of work to be done, however the biggest single family home in the county is slowly taking shape in Tampa.

The main house will be 35,000-square-feet, modeled after palaces in India and will indeed be a palatial estate. The Patel property is located on 17-acres along White Trout Lake in Carrollwood.

The man who owns Freedom Health explained why he’s building a massive estate.

“From a practical standpoint… airport, business, schools, hospital, to go to work… all of them are in a stone’s throw from here,” said Patel.

The Patel compound will also include two, 7,000-square-foot homes for his daughters, three guest houses and a 12-car garage. The goal in building this multi-million dollar estate is for his family legacy.

“Hopefully the purpose of keeping the family together for the next 50 years will be served. And if i can achieve that, it is a lot more than any money I ever spent,” said Patel.

Work on the massive project is expected to be finished next year.
