After a Clearwater paramedic helped save a domestic violence victim, the two fell in love.
On Monday Cameron Hill proposed to Melissa Dohme at the Rays game. Dohme was scheduled to throw the first pitch on behalf of Hands Across the Bay, an organization that helps families in need. Watch as she takes the field – and receives a beautiful surprise.
Dohme’s ex-boyfriend stabbed her 32 times in 2012. She was stabbed in the face, beck, arms, hands and shoulders.
“By a miracle I am still here,” Dohme told WFLA in 2013.
Hill, a firefighter, helped Dohme, who was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in critical condition. The two reconnected months after the accident, falling in love.
