A man able to get through security at the Tampa Bay Lightning game with a gun was arrested Wednesday night.
Tampa police arrested 27-year-old Lucas Cassidy of St. Petersburg after he was caught dropping the gun in the bathroom inside the Amalie Arena. Police say a witness notified officers at the game.
An officer confronted Cassidy and admitted he had the gun in his pocket.
He’s being charged with bringing a gun into a sporting event, a second-degree misdemeanor, as he has a valid concealed weapons permit.
Tampa police say he was not screened properly by security at the entrance of the game.
The Lightning play at home again Thursday night.
