Two Citrus County teens charged with trying to kill 16-year-old

Two Citrus County teens are charged with trying to kill a 16-year-old boy.

The teens, Bryan Robinson and Kyle Dutcher, were charged Tuesday with attempted premeditated murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Robinson was charged with murder in another case last week. He and 17-year-old Tyzick Wall are accused of killing 54-year-old Stephen Gorney of Crystal River. Deputies said they targeted Gorney for money he kept in his house.

Detectives said Robinson and Dutcher, 16, took the teenage victim into the woods in March, beating him and shooting him in the head. Deputies said the bullet grazed the victim’s scalp, and the suspects tried repeatedly to shoot him “but the weapon would not fire.”

Detectives received a tip Tuesday about the incident. “The male victim did not report the crime because he was told by Robinson and Dutcher that they would kill him if he told anyone,” deputies said.
