Lightning start NHL second-round series in Montreal tonight

Tampa – Chanting “Lets go Bolts,” hundreds of people gathered at the Channelside Bay Plaza to cheer on the Tampa Bay Lightning as the team takes on the Montréal Canadiens.

The game, being played in Canada, is the first of this second-round series in the NHL playoffs.

Last spring, the Canadiens swept the Lightning. But, this year, even though the Lightning finished two points back of Montreal in the standings, the Bolts dominated the Canadiens, winning all five regular-season games. Tampa Bay led the league in scoring during the regular season. Montreal goalie Carey Price posted a 1.96 goals-against average during the regular season, but allowed 16 goals in the five losses to Tampa Bay.

Fans are hoping for a sweep of this series as the Bolts work to regain the glory of the 2004 Stanley Cup winning season.
