Palm Harbor businessman Rob Fletcher, owner of Artistic Landscape Design, has angered and bedeviled investors for more than a year with his get-rich-quick deals and habit of writing bad checks no one can cash.

Now it’s his time to sweat with an eviction that will soon force him and his family out of their rental home at 4733 Lake Valencia Boulevard West.

Landlord George Kellis tells 8 On Your Side he’s had enough of Fletcher’s unpaid rent, bad checks and broken promises.

“He’s still promising my attorney that he’ll go down there and pay the money,” Kellis said. “And he never showed up.”

Friday morning, a crew from Mr. Mover began packing Fletcher’s family belongings into a truck but abruptly stopped and left after a number of creditors who’ve invested in Fletcher’s deals called to warn them he has a habit of not paying his debts.

Kellis later called the mover out of concern that Fletcher was removing some of his furniture from the furnished rental house and says he discovered a surprise.

“He used a fictitious name and was moving it to a storage unit that he owned,” Kellis said. Kellis still is not sure if any of his furniture ended up in the moving truck.

A number of investors have told 8 On Your Side that Fletcher lures them into dubious get-rich-quick deals and talks them into giving him thousands in cash – but fails to repay them. They showed us a number of bad checks of $10,000 or more written by Fletcher to settle his investment debts.

Pinellas prosecutors are analyzing a sheriff’s investigation of Fletcher’s business practices. Prosecutors told 8 On Your Side the case is still under review. Fletcher does not face any charges. Fletcher told us he is the victim of a scam but will not discuss any details of how he has been victimized.

If Fletcher doesn’t soon voluntarily remove his family and his belongings from Kellis’ house, Pinellas County Sheriff’s eviction deputies will forcibly remove him.
