Poll looks ahead to 2016 matchups

Democrat Hillary Clinton beats a slate of potential Republican candidates for president in recent News Channel 8 polls.

The polls, conducted by SurveyUSA for News Channel 8, show Clinton ahead of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (49-38), Sen. Rand Paul (46-42), Sen. Marco Rubio (53-39) and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (47-41.

Christie beats Vice President Joe Biden in the poll (48-39), as does Paul (47-39), Rubio (46-43) and Bush (47-38).

The survey matched up two potential candidates and asked respondents which they would choose if the 2016 election for President were held today.
