In a tight gubernatorial race, Gov. Rick Scott pulled slightly ahead in an exclusive News Channel 8 poll on the governor’s race.
It’s the first time the survey shows Scott ahead of Democrat Charlie Crist since the poll launched in mid-April.
The survey shows Scott, a Republican, with 42 percent compared with 40 percent for Crist, the former governor running for his old job. Nine percent of respondents said they would vote for someone else and 8 percent were undecided.
Crist is down four points from the last poll, while Scott is up by one point.
Among the areas showing change among voter sentiments is Central Florida, which was at one point split 46-38 for Crist. Now Scott leads 47-34.
The poll, conducted by SurveyUSA for News Channel 8, has a margin or error of 4.3 percent.
