The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help name its newest Mounted Patrol horse.

The 10-year-old American Warmblood gelding is 17.2 hands tall. He was donated by Terry and Darlene Geiser of Ocala. The “horse with no name”, as the Sheriff’s Office calls him, is already patrolling Siesta Key Beach and other areas of the county for Spring Break.

Citizens are invited to visit the Sheriff’s Facebook page to choose their favorite of four names: Colonel, Recruit, Pursuit, or Honor.

The winning selection will be announced in April.
